Adventure Ed is the name for after school homework assistance and activities at Grand County Middle School!  Here is a summary of what is going on:
The Video Time Capsule project is in full swing, with students documenting the life and times of middle schoolers in this year 2010.  Final editing will take place in the next two weeks, and the time capsule will then be put in its resting place until the year 2030.  The club is held on Mondays and Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:00, after homework assistance.
Rockets, Kites and Airplanes club is held on Fridays.  Students have been busy learning the basics of aerodynamics as well as how rocket engines work.  This is a practical application of the Newton’s Laws that the students learned about in Science class this year.  Students are making rockets from kits and we have had several successful launches so far!
Climbing Club and Drama Club continue to be very popular with the students, and are usually full to capacity.  These activities take place right after school.  Come into the library to sign up and get a snack before you take off these fun classes.   Climbers get to travel to potash to practice their skills, and with the beautiful weather we have been having it feels great to get outside and climb after a day of school and study.
Come to Adventure Ed!  We meet each day at the library in the Middle School at 2:30.  To learn more call the office at 259-2767.
